Mailers are getting a break at least for a few weeks, as the USPS has decided to delay all rate changes originally scheduled to take effect on April 26th. Although rates for First Class, Special Services and Competitive Products have been approved, the USPS must propose new pricing for Standard Mail, Periodicals and Package Services after the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) rejected their previous request.
The PRC remanded two USPS requests earlier this year, citing a lack of compliance with the law, lack of information and unequal distribution of rates between commercial and nonprofit mailers as it relates to Standard Mail and Periodicals.
