The USPS rate proposal was again remanded by the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) which means the USPS will have to make adjustments to their proposal and resubmit.
The PRC found that the postal service did not adequately address numerous issues cited in Order No. 2378 dated March 6, 2015, some of which include:
• Unequal Standard Mail nonprofit and commercial discounts
• Failure to demonstrate that the requested rates meet legal and regulatory requirements
• USPS improperly calculated discounts and adjustments in pricing
At this point, any rate changes that were scheduled for April 26, 2015 will not be implemented. By law, there must be 45 days’ notice prior to any rate increase.
